As an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Blake Burkert enjoys helping his patients overcome pain and regain control of their lives. He specializes in general orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, and interventional pain management.
“I love being able to be a part of someone’s journey to take their life back and return to the activities that they love,” he says. “Being able to see the transition of someone at their worst to being able to return to the activities that they once loved is humbling.”
Dr. Burkert has volunteered and worked across six continents, including South Africa, India, Vietnam, and Zanzibar, gaining experience in various medical specialties. He also spent years in hospice care during his high school and college years. Outside of medicine, he enjoys exploring global recipes, watching football and basketball, playing golf, and engaging in outdoor activities like hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and fly fishing. Recently, he’s developed an interest in gardening and landscaping.
